If the sewage is only backing up when you use water (flush a toilet, run the dishwasher or washing machine, take a shower/bath) the issue is most likely the private service line.  

If the sewage is constantly backing up and you are not using water the issue is most likely in the City main. For issues with the City water main see the contact information below.
